Today
dawned not so bright and rain was forecast. Undaunted, Neil picked us up and we
headed for Stanley Park to visit the Vancouver Aquarium. This aquarium has a
very good reputation which is well founded. It is well set up and very easy to
get around. We saw all manner of fish, frogs, snakes, aquatic birds, seals, beluga
whales and, of course, sea otters. These creatures are really cute.
| This anaconda has just been fed and was curled around it's prey |
| He loves acting the clown |
| Look carefully the yellow fish is facing to the right |
| We found Nemo |
| Sea planes come and go on a regular basis |
| The sea otters were gorgeous, but very difficult to photograph when in the water |
| They love swimming on their back |
| It looks like they have a pouch, but in fact it's their dense fur which enables them to tuck their food away |
| Still having fun, this time with frogs |
When we
finished we drove around to the Tea house for a small bite to eat before driving
to Gastown. The plan was to have a walk along the waterfront and back. We
managed this, but it was mostly in the rain which was unfortunate. We made it
back to Gastown and finished off with a late lunch/early dinner ‘linner’ at
Tacofino for Neil’s recommended fish tacos. Delicious!

| Teahouse in Stanley Park |
| Lots of interesting shops in Gastown |
| Autumn is coming |
| There's those seaplanes again |
| A cycling couple were 'washing' their bikes in the fountain |
| Our fish tacos - very good |
Neil drove
us back to our accommodation and then headed back to Kelowna ready for work
tomorrow. A short but very sweet visit with him.
