6 September Victoria to Vancouver

Tuesday 6 September
Today was a travelling day. We returned to John’s Place for breakfast – such a wonderful place – we knew we would not need to eat again until dinner time! We then had plenty of time to get a cab down to the bus station.

We checked our luggage through to Vancouver and hopped on the bus which was about 2/3rds full. A few other stops en route and we arrived for the 11am ferry to Tsawassen. It was a gloomy day so not worth going outside, but the hour and a half trip went petty quickly. We were called down to the bus and were soon on our way into Vancouver.

It was sunny when we arrived so as we were dropped much closer to where we were staying than the bus station (where we thought we would be dropped) we opted to walk. A mistake we will not make again! The short walk was rather difficult with poorly constructed footpaths and a somewhat uphill journey near the end! However, we made it and were very happy to be offered a cup of tea!

Neil had messaged to say he was on his way down from Kelowna and would arrive around 5pm. So we had time to freshen up. Then we heard from him that there was an accident on the TC Highway (deja vue) which would end up holding him up for about an hour. However, he ended up arriving not long after 5.30 as it turned out and we all headed out for dinner. It was really good to see him.
