Thursday 1
September
Our plans
for the day worked out reasonably well. We left after breakfast and headed to
the Comox side of the inlet. We drove to Goose Spit and climbed the hundred or
so stairs to the top of the cliff to take in the view then walked down the spit
to the naval base. Then the rain came again.
View from the top down Goose Neck Spit
Taking it easy on the descent
Some beautiful homes in the cul de sac at the top of the stairs
Looking back towards the hill
Balmoral Beach - I know which one I prefer
This heron was patrolling for its breakfast
Bingo!
So part two
of the morning was timed well. We headed for the Comox Royal Air Force Museum.
We spent an interesting hour and a half
at the museum learning about Canada’s involvement in the theatre of war. A very
well put together museum.
Dinner –
well we enjoyed our meal last night so much that we returned to the Waverley
Hotel for another delightful meal.
